The Hour Before Dawn

Resisting Global Fascism Through Coaching Nazi Descendants

In the weeks since we announced The Hour Before Dawn program, we have received such potent and meaningful feedback and responses, and are feeling powerful momentum towards bringing this offering into the world.

For those who missed the announcement, here is a brief summary of The Hour Before Dawn:

Thank you so much to those of you who helped us spread the word in your communities and networks. Relationship and word-of-mouth in community has been our exclusive avenue to finding participants to engage in this transformative journey together. We still have a few spaces remaining in this initial cohort, and are extending the application deadline to June 1st, if you know any people or communities who would benefit from participating.

Below are a few exciting updates and opportunities to learn more about what we’re up to with The Hour Before Dawn and how we are hoping this program will support the broader global movement to resist fascism.

Virtual Information Session for The Hour Before Dawn

Thursday, May 8 from 7:00-8:15pm CET

Are you curious about this program but on the fence about applying? This session is being offered for wealth inheritors who know or suspect that their families have ties to the NS Regime and who want to learn more about The Hour Before Dawn. This 75 minute session will be an opportunity for prospective participants to meet the program facilitators (yours truly and Justine Epstein), learn more about the program, and ask questions.

This will be a confidential space.  If you're interested but have concerns about confidentiality, or if you're unable to attend at the scheduled time, please reach out to: thehourbeforedawn@googlegroups.com.

Dinner in Berlin - May 15

For those local to Berlin, I’m thrilled to be co-hosting a dinner with Alice Gedamu, who is part of the leadership team for The Hour Before Dawn. This dinner brings together the facilitators, coaches, local participants, and broader Hour Before Dawn community together for an evening of storytelling and delicious food in Berlin. This event is for those who have family members who lived through the NS regime and who were either participants in the regime or who were in a privileged position during that time. And for those who are interested in learning how to research and tell the stories of their family so that we can truly harvest the lessons of the NS regime and be more fully equipped to fight present day fascism.

While the Hour Before Dawn program is specifically for wealth holders, this dinner is aimed at spreading this work of family research and truth-telling for those of all economic positions. Additionally, this dinner is an opportunity for the broader support network of The Hour Before Dawn to deepen relationships with each other. We hope that The Hour Before Dawn can be part of a larger movement in Europe to resist fascism through confronting the past.

Join us for an evening of connection, storytelling and truth-telling, and build community with others who are concerned about the rise of fascism.

Thursday, May 15th
 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
 Berlin (Location to be announced)

Can you make the dinner? Please RSVP.

Media Engagements

My co-facilitator Justine and I have both had some exciting media opportunities to share about this work recently, both individually and together.

-   I was interviewed by Nadjeschda Taranczewski at Conscious U Money, in a piece called "A Heavy Legacy: From Burden to Possibility." Together we explored the need to talk about Nazi wealth, and the opportunities for spiritual healing by embarking in this process of family research and reparations. Listen to or read the interview here.

-   Justine recently met with her friends at Loam - a community publishing project that tells stories at the confluence of environmental, social and personal systems change. As the publishing branch of Weaving Earth Center for Relational Education, Loam curates and publishes stories that explore collective liberation, climate justice and community care. Justine was interviewed for their substack about wealth redistribution and ancestral reckoning and repair, and The Hour Before Dawn. Check it out – Shame into Action

-   Both Justine and I got to be interviewed together on Rebel Therapist about our process of building the Hour Before Dawn, what it’s been like for us to collaborate, and why we feel this program is needed right now in Europe. Stay tuned for that episode!

Interested in Joining Us or Know Someone who Might?

We appreciate your support in helping us spread the word about The Hour Before Dawn. Submitting an application is the first step to be considered for The Hour Before Dawn. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so we encourage people who are interested to apply early to secure a spot.

  • Please note - the deadline has been extended to June 1.

Shoutout  - Ancestors & Money

I’m honored to uplift this transformative community learning journey for white wealth inheritors (mainly in North America) who are called to take action towards redistribution and repair, facilitated by Justine and fellow money coach Morgan Curtis. It’s a six month immersion into anti-racist genealogy, ancestral reconnection, family organizing, social justice giving, divestment and more. The cohort is supported by Black and Indigenous guest teachers, and 50% of course fees are redistributed. It begins this November 2025 and runs through May 2026. Applications are open now with an early-bird deadline on May 1st.
